Why You'll Regret Never Dating the Nice Guy You Friend Zoned
"I said a lot of crappy things the other night and I'm sorry about that. The truth is, I'm scared to be your friend, because I'm always going to want more. But then I got to thinking that I would rather have you in my life as a friend than not at all."- Just Friends
Because he loved you first….
He was the guy always there for you, if you needed anything. He was that call at 2AM, and in a drunk slur of words not even knowing where you were, he somehow found you and took care of you. He respected you more than anyone you had ever come to know, while many guys would take advantage of the opportunity that fell into their lap, all he did was make sure you were okay.
But you couldn’t reciprocate it.
You still went for everyone but him. He was your first call after the bad date, because when every other guy on the planet let you down, he never did. He even offered to be your plus one, 3 hours before that wedding, after some asshole flaked. And while you laughed at the idea of originally asking him, you knew you were “just friends.”
To this day, he’s still the best guy you know…
He was every long compliment that made you blush, literary worshipping the ground you walked on and you treated however you wanted, even if it wasn’t always kind. There’s something about someone loving you even at your worst that intrigued you. But never intriguing enough to date him because you were “just friends.”
Who deserves the world, you wish you could have gave him
He was the one all your friends wanted you to date. But again you laughed at the idea. All he ever was were drunk kisses, you barely remember on nights out, as you laughed hitting on his best friend in front of him.
Yet he still loved you.
You'll see him moved on and happy.
But like anyone, he couldn’t keep waiting for you to figure out what type of game you wanted to play with his heart. So he moved on.
Part of you was happy for him, but underneath was jealously you’d never admit to anyone.
Cause he had always been “yours,” or yours how you wanted him to be. Now he wasn’t.
And you knew how lucky the girl was…
And a piece of you will always regret that you it wasn't with you.
