Coby is a flamboyant cockatiel and the Player's promiscuous step-brother. His favorite dating ground is Club Amorous and its dance floor.

In the current version of Amorous (v1.0.3), Coby is Dateable.

Appearance

Coby is a blue bird femboy, with the shades of his blue feathers varying slightly over his body—lighter on his front torso, darker on the back and sides of his body, etc. His beak is a dark blue-black, and he has pale blue eyes with dark scleras. His tongue is also pale blue. The feathers on the top of his head that stand in for hair are paler than the richer blue feathers on his face, and they form something of a wavy or spiked "hairstyle."

Coby is seen naked, in his underwear, or in a washed-out pink tank top with purple striped arm-warmers.

Personality

Coby is usually very nice but can mischievous at times as he is always trying to make you smile but is quite annoying to the Player, because he is always bringing up his sex life in conversations. He doesn't seem to think that being in front of the Player nude is an issue, but he has a longstanding habit of going pants-less, so most of the time he is in his underwear.

Background

Coby is the Player's brother by the latter's adoption, and so while not blood-relations, they have spent a long time growing up together.

Although Coby does manage to sleep around quite a bit, he has also struck out many times at Amorous, as he is often dumped or manipulated.

Romance

Despite his being the Player's stepbrother, it is possible to date Coby through dialogue choices after returning from the first night at Club Amorous, which reveals that Coby has always had a bit of a crush on the Player but didn't want to cross any lines. He has a boyfriend that is out of town, but as far as can be told, said boyfriend doesn't care if Coby has sex with other guys while he's gone.

Phone Number

The Player starts off the game with Coby's phone number. It is possible to begin dating immediately after returning home from the first night at Amorous.

Dates

As of the current version of Amorous (v1.0.3), there is only one possible romantic encounter with Coby by the Player, which then proceeds immediately to the sex scene. The two of them discuss their mutual feelings for each other and their history of mutual concealment, though Coby even teases the Player about this confession. According to him, one of the main reasons Coby goes nude at home with the Player was to tempt them into initiating something intimate, as he never quite had the courage to do so.

Sexual Encounters

The sex scene with Coby first involves the Player undressing him from behind, while Coby presents his buttocks upward and lays on his bed, looking back at the Player (not yet shown on-screen). This view changes to a more involved animation where Coby power-bottoms the Player, who's now shown laying underneath Coby and who grabs their stepbrother by the legs and pulls him onto them. Coby is shown looking backwards and slyly enjoying the spectacle. This latter animation is the repeatable one when selecting Coby's Sex Scene from the phone.

Directly afterwards, the two have a very near-miss with the sudden, unexpected arrival of their parents. Their father comes up to investigate the ruckus, and both the Player and Coby manage to allay his suspicions, or at least allay them well enough. He admonishes them both for "roughhousing" and Coby for not cleaning up after his sexual encounters, but says nothing more severe than that and tells them to wash up for dinner.

Trivia

• Coby is the only character that doesn't require acquiring a phone number to date.
  • He was the very first character with a sex scene in Amorous, introduced in the very first version. He wasn't made Dateable until (v0.2), but still numbers among the first characters to be made so, along with Jax, Seth, and Skye.
• If Coby's closet is examined, the Player notices that the bird likes to cross-dress.
• Since the Player is adopted, a sexual relation with Coby technically doesn't count as incest by blood, but, being incest by adoptive law, it can still be viewed as a social taboo. Either way, they aren't keen to explain themselves truthfully to Coby's Dad afterwards.
• He appears in several of Jasonafex's images on FurAffinity.
• There is no dialogue from Coby referring to the Player's species. Even if the Player is exactly the same as Coby or even a Kangaroo (which is a suggested preference of his), all dialogue remains the same.
  • This is likely because there are simply too many possibilities in Character Creation to make this level of detail practical.
• Coby will never directly mention the Player's former workplace or comment on their club attire.
  • This is likely designed to allow a level of freedom for the Player to invent their own backstory.
• While in Mercy's date line, the Player mentions that their family refers to the Player as male, but Coby will call the Player a "lesbian" during Remy's date line if they chose female pronouns at the club.
