she found a dating app on boyfriends phone

Dear Meredith,. Last night I went through my boyfriend's phone (I know, bad idea) and found two dating apps. Neither seems active, but I'm. Yesterday I was out with my boyfriend of a year and his friend when I caught a glance at my BF's phone and saw the tinder app. I immediately got upset & he. Secretly using a dating app I lost my job as a graphic designer, and found out that my boyfriend - despite being kind and caught was when a message popped up on my phone from a date, asking where I wanted to meet.

Woman confronts boyfriend about having Tinder - and his explanation is 'ludicrous'

The most important element of any successful relationship is trust.

But one woman is finding it a little difficult to trust her partner right now, after discovering he had downloaded a dating app on his phone.

The unnamed 29-year-old woman has taken to Reddit to share her dilemma, revealing that she confronted her boyfriend about the whole thing.

She was understandably pretty confused as to why he would have the app - but the explanation he gave her did little to help quell her fears.

Writing on Reddit's Relationship Advice forum, the woman said: "Did my boyfriend really make a Tinder account to to view men's haircuts?

"I've been with my BF for a year now, and for the last three months we've been living together in quarantine.

"He had a buzz cut since I first met him, except for the last three months hasn't gone out to get a haircut for obvious reasons. A few weeks ago since things have opened back up he was talking about maybe making an appointment to get a haircut. I asked if he was just going to get a buzz cut and he said yes, and I said that I thought his hair looked really good longer and that maybe he should just get a trim.

"A few days ago I went on to his phone to play Spotify and I notice that he had Tinder downloaded. I opened it up and saw that it was set up as a woman's account set to swipe on men. It didn't look like he had messaged anyone yet. When I confronted him about it he told me that he created the account to look at men's haircuts."

Um... WHAT?!

The woman goes on to say she asked the guy why he didn't just Google 'men's haircuts' like everyone else would do, but he had an answer for that too.

"He goes 'When you search for men's haircuts it's literally all just male models with undercuts. If you search for man in his 30s it's just stock photos. Online dating is the easiest way to see pictures of a few hundred real, random dudes in their 30s so I can find a picture to bring to the barber.'

"When I asked about Facebook he goes 'So I'm just going to get an identical haircut to one of my real life friends so I look like I'm Single White Femaling him?'"

The woman admits she finds his reasoning plausible, but when she told one of her friends about it, they didn't agree.

She added: "When I told my best friend she goes 'Do you really want to be one of those women who believes men's ridiculous excuses for cheating?'

"What do people think, could this actually be why he made a Tinder account?"

More than 100 people have responded to the post, with many divided over the situation.

Some believed his story, despite how it sounded.

"It sounds ludicrous but somehow I believe it as well," replied one person.

Another wrote: "The only other explanation might be that he's in the closet (given he's searching for men) or is trolling/catfishing, but frankly his excuse sounds more plausible than either of those situations."

A third said: "If he created a male account, with actual photos of him, his excuse would make no sense. He created a female account. What he did is smart. Even looking for female haircuts it’s all models. Nothing real. My hair will never look like that. In fact, I now want to create a men’s tinder account to look at female hair. I don’t hear anything suspicious going on here."

Others thought it was too "creative" to be true.

Someone else said: "That is a 'creative' explanation for downloading Tinder. And, I am not buying it..."

A second commented: "Instead of looking at Instagram, celebrity haircuts, magazines? His first thought was to download a dating app and check out guys?"

"Not sure if this guy's the dumbest man on the planet or a genius/future idol of all cheating men everywhere," added a different user.
