Degeneres dating guy

The coronavirus pandemic has made pretty much all aspects of life harder, and if you're single you'll know how much of a dampener it's put on your search for love.

Comedian Chelsea Handler knows first hand how difficult dating during COVID-19 is. During an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she opened up about a date gone wrong.

Handler invited a friend of a friend over to see whether they'd be "compatible". They met in her backyard and talked until she felt the man might be someone she could get intimate with.

"I was like, 'OK I could hook up with this guy, this could be a fun night I just need to get some COVID history'," she said.

And that's when things took an awkward turn.

"I said, 'What is your COVID strategy, how are you handling it, safety measures?' and he said, 'Well I wear a mask a lot but I don't really believe it does anything'," Handler recalled.

Furious with his attitude, Handler then gave her date a 45-minute lecture on white male privilege.

"I was like, 'Listen up buddy, are you a doctor? Are you a scientist? Only a white male privileged man would think they knew better than doctors and scientists. So frustrating," she said to rapturous applause.

The potential for romance with the man wasn't completely shut down though, Handler admitted to DeGeneres that she is open to seeing the man again if he changes his opinion.

"So I said, 'Go home and think about what you did and then if you have a different approach next week call me back and maybe we could make something happen'.

"I haven't heard from him since," she confessed.

Handler also gave an insight into the type of man she is into at the moment by revealing her recent crushes.

"The last time I was hear we talked about Robert Mueller (former Special Counsel for the United States Department of Justice) but that's old news now," she revealed.

"I have a type, between 60 and 80 is my sweet spot so right now I'm in my Andrew Cuomo (Governor of New York) phase, but I'm almost at the tail end of that because once Andrew Cuomo came on the scene during COVID that was just bananas."
