Dating asian women in portland

I'm a 36-year-old single female considering a move from L.A. to Portland. I would like to think that I have a lot going for me, and am wondering if there are a lot of quality single guys in their 30's/early 40's in Portland. (Quality meaning attractive, nice, in-shape and employed.)

I'm also biracial (asian/caucasian) and have sort of an exotic look .. I heard Portland was very white and am also wondering whether all the white guys are looking for white girls. Please tell me there's a little bit of color to be found in Portland?

I really don't know how to say this, but I'm so gobsmacked I'm going to try...I hope this comes across as supportive?

If there is really a place, somewhere in the USA, where a significant portion of "white" guys in a metropolitan area don't generally find "Asian" or "Asian/Caucasian" women attractive, then I've never been there and nobody I have ever known in my entire life has ever been there to tell me about it. In other words, either I've been woefully uninformed in my 34 years, or you have nothing to worry about.

While it's true that I've been married a really long time, I'm pretty sure I'm not all that clueless...plus I have several female friends who are Asian who would definitely back me up on this.

Yeah, the Asian/Caucasian mixes usually are the best looking girls around, maybe second to Brazilians. In addition, your Asian half is probably keeping you looking young. Anyway, as a 25 year old (sorry I don't meet your requirement there ) clean-cut white guy, every girl I've met that is similar to yourself has been attractive. Funny though, there are very few flat out Asians that do it for me so you're definitely a more rare and desirable breed, I suppose. As far as the dating scene in Portland goes, that remains to be seen when I move there. One month, hazzah!

Aside from any specific mix, most people who look different racially than the majority of other men or women they are competing against tend to attract more attention. Being "exotic" is often a big plus. You stand out from the crowd.

You know, actually, I know some white women who would strongly take exception being thus excepted (and their girlfriends would too).

if you're as good as you say you are, i think portland will be great in terms of dating. one idea might be to put out a "feeler" by posting an online dating profile, with some photos, and say that you are in portland now. don't respond, of course, and see what kind of response you get. why don't you start by posting a photo of yourself here now?
