Courtney Love claimed that the same people behind Britney Spears' conservatorship tried to put her under similar constraints, and she still suffers from post-traumatic stress from it.

On Instagram, a Britney fan asked Courtney if rumors were true that Lou Taylor, the pop star's former business manager, tried to design a conservatorship to guide the Hole singer's life.

"Short answer is yes. Lou did try for a mutated strain of a conservatorship. She and the 'jeryls' made an attempt to control kurts name and likeness and all nirvana songs ( 96 percent). Then sell the publishing, by which time I'd be in a conservatorship or more likely? Dead," she replied to the fan, referring to her late husband, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.

"I was successful at blocking only Lou, that's just because I chant a lot which makes me lucky. But, not her buddies," she added.

Courtney said she recently looked at Britney's social media and found it disturbing.

"There's no point in sticking my neck out for her now, her pack of wolves almost killed me and my only child," Courtney said, noting that the "Toxic" singer looks "damaged."

Speaking of Britney's former ally Sam Lufti, Courtney said, "I just got away from lutfi after 8.5 hellish years. Bad as he is? He doesn't hold a candle to those people."

Britney's conservatorship, which her dad Jamie Spears has run since 2008, has been a source of contention for years, especially among the pop star's fans — some of whom believe she's being held against her will and even using Instagram to covertly send signals. The #FreeBritney movement has been growing.

Courtney can relate to Britney and has tried to intervene.

"I've tried to lobby attorneys for years with a glimmer of humanity to take on Spears situation and they always p—y out. And frankly I'm done with it," she said. "I know more about the Spears case than almost anyone there is. There was a time I'd have told you anything. Everything. It's one of the worst things I've ever seen done to another woman and trust me I've seen it all."

Courtney said she's fine now and "recovering from a near death illness" that she suspects was caused by decades of stress, much of which was related to her then-management.

"We finally have a manager they're all scared of and we are safe. I'm ok and most of all [my daughter] Frances is ok. I'm not dragging us through the ptsd and trauma that lou's name brings up in me," she said. "No one can do that to us again. In exchange for that security. I don't get to talk about the particulars. I'm keeping the security. I'm sorry but I can't help you further."

After her lengthy message, Courtney implored major media outlets to look into Britney's conservatorship case.
